Xmas Dinner Northern Group

Our Northern group held our end of year dinner in the lovely town of Te Aroha. A good distance to suit all members for travel.

The day was perfect, so travelling along the foothills of the Kaimais to Te Aroha was beautiful.

Seventeen of us met at the RSA Te Aroha and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Their menu offered a choice of blackboard meals for $15 OR you could choose from the main restaurant menu. Our meal was very generously subsidised $15 each by our club, so as it worked out no one ended up paying extra for their meal.

It was such a nice time to chat and meet our new members from the Waikato, their first outing, we met Graeme and Anne Francis from Hamilton (Allan Francis son) and Nick and Dianne Tautari from Te Awamutu. It was such a highlight to have them with us, along with the Bethels, six members who had been in the Waikato under lockdown restrictions.

After relaxing and talking, some chose to look at the historic buildings in Te Aroha or travel home, we are all looking forward to opportunities over summer to meet for a picnic, car show at Rotorua and other ideas for driving to destinations of interest. It would be great to aim for 2 monthly runs. Sorry, we talked too much and neglected photos till time to leave!!!!!!!!!
